Sunset at the Palms in Jamaica can best be described as an oasis. The people are friendly, the climate fantastic and the food brilliant. This hotel has 3 restaurants, The Palm Grove which is a buffet type affair consisting of local and more Western food. This is eat as much as you like and the quality is above par. Fresh fruit, cheeses, hams, eggs, bacon etc are served at breakfast. Curries, jerk meats, rice and peas, pasta dishes etc are served for lunch. Dinner is slightly more grand, with around 30 different desserts to choose from, a carvery, and a mixture of local and more international dishes.
The second restaurant is the 'a la carte' Lotus Leaf restaurant. This restaurant requires a reservation, is influenced by International and Asian flavours and has waiter service. It is slightly more formal but the food is of a higher standard to that of the Palm Grove restaurant.
Lastly the final restaurant is on the private beach. Here the menu doesn't change. The choices are burgers, chips, jerk chicken etc... In other words basic fair.
The lovely thing about this hotel is that although it's all inclusive, you never get a sense that they've cut corners. I would go back in a heartbeat.
